The 2020 USATF Junior Olympic Championships scheduled for
July 27 - August 2 in Jacksonville FL has been canceled.
SEASON UPDATE March 17, 2020:
Due to the State of Kansas and USD 489 canceling school through the remainder of the school year, we are effectively post-poning our season until it is appropriate to proceed. If you have paid your 2020 membership fee(s) they will be held until a determination on our season is made.
At this time, we have no indication of any cancellations for any of the qualifying meets beginning in June. In the meantime, encourage your athlete to stay physically active in a safe manner, practice good personal hygiene, stay hydrated and healthy. We hope to see everybody at the track soon!
HAYS STRIDERS POSITION ON THE 2019 NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Currently, we are monitoring how the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) progresses in our State and community. We continue to monitor the development of this unprecedented event, along with the advice of public health officials on a global, national, state, and community level. We have also been in contact with the AAU and USATF for input.
The USATF and AAU National Youth Indoor meets have been canceled. Sporting events across the U.S. continue to be canceled as well. Therefore, as the season approaches, we shall make a decision as to whether to begin March 30 or postpone to a later date.
We understand that schools are being closed in different states across the U.S., and will take a further position when or if USD 489 makes a similar decision.
